Summer outdoor cinema
The adventures of James Bond in Summer Cinematograph! The outdoor cinema screen will be set on summer Wednesdays in the Źródliska Park, while on Fridays it will be installed on the Stary Rynek.
The character of James Bond was created by Ian Fleming in 1952. The first book devoted to agent 007 was titled “Casino Royale.” After Fleming’s death, further adventures of Her Majesty’s secret agent were accounted by Kingsley Amis, John Gardner, Raymond Benson, Sebastian Faulks, Jeffery Deaver and William Boyd.
By 2015 24 official films were developed (by EON Productions0 as well as three independent films. The role of Bond was given to: Sean Connery (6 films), George Lazenby (1), Roger Moore (7), Timothy Dalton (2), Pierce Brosnan (4), and Daniel Craig (4). Agent 007 introduced himself with the words “My name is Bond. James Bond” for the first time in Doctor No. Sean Connery uses the phrase with a cigarette in his mouth, at a casino table in the company of a beautiful (of course) woman.
The 8th edition of Summer Cinematograph begins on the 30th of June. Over the whole summer holidays we will show you 18 films about 007.
We invite you to outdoor cinema in the Stary Rynek on summer Fridays. In the open air we will show you the adventures of 007 produced from 1962 to 1977. The repertoire covers: Doctor No (30.06), From Russia with Love (7.07), Goldfinger (14.07), You Only Live Twice (21.07), On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (28.07), Diamonds Are Forever (4.08), Live and Let Die (11.08), The Man with the Golden Gun (18.08), The Spy Who Loved Me (25.08).
On summer Wednesdays in the Źródliska Park, near Tubajka cafe, we will show you films produced between the late 1970s. until the first films with Daniel Craig as James Bond. The repertoire covers: Moonraker (5.07), For Your Eyes Only (12.07), A View to a Kill (19.07), Licence to Kill (26.07), GoldenEye (2.08), Tomorrow Never Dies (9.08), The World Is Not Enough (16.08), Die Another Day (23.08), Casino Royale (30.08).
The screenings will start at dusk. Before the main screenings we will show you short films. There will also be quizzes for the viewers. We will prepare 200 seats for the audience.
The author of graphic design of this year’s edition of screenings under the Summer Cinematograph is Piotr Młodożeniec – a graphic artist, painter, draftsman, author of animated films as well as book and press illustrations. He comes from an artistic family: he is a son of Jan Młodożeniec, one of the most excellent artists of the so-called Polish school of poster, a brother of Stanisław Młodożeniec, a painter living in the USA, and a grandson of Stanisław Młodożeniec, one of the leading representatives of avant-garde of the 20th century Polish poetry.
